Any person can be a lender on Wisefund as long as one meets the following criteria:
a) be over 18
b) have valid passport or ID card
c) has a bank account in a financial institution registered and licensed in a country of the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland
d) are a resident of a country from the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland

When lenders register on the site, we check their identity according to the highest industry standards, as well as to comply with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations set by the European Commission. By doing so, we know exactly who is joining our network.
After successful verification of the lender's identity, Wisefund will email banking details as well as when they’ll be available in the lender’s account. Please be sure to check banking details before each transfer.
As soon as your money arrives in the bank account where User's funds are held, your lender's account will show the balance available for lending. As Wisefund works only with SEPA transfers, this process usually takes 1 business day, but in some cases, it may require up to 3 business days. Please note that during national holidays there may be delays.

Please contact our support team if you’ve transferred the funds and they haven’t appeared in your lender's account after 3 business days.
This depends on your residence country laws, but most likely yes, your earnings will be taxed as lending is considered an investment activity. As a lender, you get interest without a tax deduction. Interest earned from any of the loans qualifies as unearned income for taxation purposes i.e., money earned from investments. You’ll need to show the interest you receive in each tax year on your self-assessment returns.

Wisefund is currently accepting registrations only from residents of the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) countries and Switzerland with accounts in EUR only. Please note that payments in other currencies will be converted to EUR at our bank’s rate.
Once you’ve registered, you’ll see the My Account and Statistics section every time you log in. There you can access the summary of your lending activity, giving you a breakdown of your current funds, how much you have in available cash, and how much is invested, as well as how much interest you’ve earned, how much you’ve lent, and how much has been repaid.
Yes. Any money you get from borrower repayments, either interest earned or principal returned, is automatically added to your available cash fund. Therefore, you can use it to lend to other borrowers. This allows you to harness the power of compound interest and maximize your returns.
If you find that loans have fully funded before you have a chance to complete a loan order, you should make sure that you haven’t unsubscribed from email alerts regarding new loan opportunities that we send when loans go live.
We clearly understand that this is your money, not ours. The available cash that you have in your account available for lending is held in a separate client fund account. These funds don’t form part of our assets and are used only to be transferred to the borrowers based on exact loan orders from the lenders.
As Wisefund operates in compliance with European laws and regulations, Wisefund is bound to verify the identity of each registered user on the platform before full access to the platform activities and options can be provided, including depositing funds for the purpose of providing loans to businesses and withdrawing accrued interest. You’ll need your passport or ID card to quickly complete the verification process and move onto investing!
Wisefund may ask for your source of funds, occupation, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow the platform to comply with European laws and regulations.
